Jerry and Kayleen Kern of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 8, at St. Patrick Parish Center in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be their children, Kevin and Kimberly Kern of Olathe, Loren and Donna Kern of Cave Springs, Ark. and Brian Kern of Lyons.
Kayleen Hertel and Jerry Kern were united in marriage on Aug. 7, 1965, in Great Bend. They are both retired from USD 428 School District. The couple has three grandchildren, Chandler Kern, Kylie Kern and Taylor Kern.
