Marion and Madonna Oborny will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a dance from 2-6 p.m. on Aug. 5, at the Russell VFW. No gifts are requested.
Madonna Schmeidler and Marion Oborny were united in marriage on Aug. 4, 1978, at St. Joseph Church in Hays. Marion teaches and coaches debate and forensics at Hoisington High School. Madonna is a retired special education teacher. The couple has two children, Luke and Kristy Oborny and Mary and Gordon Schroeder; and 10 grandchildren.
