Annual Lions Fish Fry announced

The Great Bend Evening Lions Club will hold its annual Fish Fry on Friday, September 24 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, located at 24th and Washington. The menu includes Alaskan Pollock, cheesy scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, bread and fixings and ice tea or coffee.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 years of age and under, and children under 5 eat free.

In addition, for the first time in many years, Lions Club brooms, mops, squeegees, dust pans, etc. will be available for purchase at the event. These are USA made products for industry, home and office at great prices, sponsors said.

Donations of old eyeglasses, hearing aids and cellphones will also be accepted that evening.

All proceeds from this event go toward providing free pre-school eye exams, seeing eye dogs for the blind, sight assistance for those in need, diabetes awareness programs and community and environmental improvements.
