Alan K. Oeser of Claflin will celebrate his 70 birthday on Feb. 19 with a family dinner. Helping him celebrate will be his wife of 49 years Sheila (Heinz) Oeser; two sisters Kathey and husband Lee Carlisle of Holyrood and Sherry Oeser and daughter Meianna of Portland, Ore.; four children, Allison Layne of Stafford, Chris and Debbie Oeser, Phil and Raylette and Jon and Jane Oeser, all of Claflin; his seven grandchildren, PFC Jordan Keenan of Augusta, Ga., Chandler Keenan of Sterling, Bethany and Taylor Oeser and Lawson, Lexi and Lauren, all of Claflin; his four step-granddaughters, Kristi and husband Kelly Nixon of Claflin, Kari and husband Dae VanPelt of Holcomb and Kylie and husband Rick Crawford of Hoisington; and his 11 step-grandchildren, Kaleb, Kassidy and Kambree Nixon of Claflin, Daegan, Jayln, Camryn and Ian of Holcomb and Kylie, Elli Mae, Kobe and Rilynn of Hoisington.
Alan was born Feb. 22, 1942, the son of the late Durward Oeser and Edith Stratmann. He has been a life long farmer in the Barton and Ellsworth county areas.
