Celestine W. Jacobs will celebrate his 90th birthday on March 29th with a card shower. Born in 1923 in Hoisington, he is the son of Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs. On May 20, 1947, he married Thelma Herrman. They were married 60 years when Mrs. Jacobs died in 2007. He worked for the Rush County Highway Department for 39 years until his retirement. His children are Raymond Jacobs and wife Marsha, Paula Kuhn and husband Jed and Duane Jacobs, all of Great Bend, and Kenneth Jacobs and wife Connie of Catawissa, Mo. He has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
