Lafern Niedens of Great Bend will celebrate her 85th birthday on Jan. 22 with a Card Shower.
Lafern was born on Jan. 22, 1929 in rural Barton County to Emil and Clara Karst. Her children are Mike and Debbie Niedens of Great Bend, Craig and Mee-Sun Niedens of Grand Valley, Mo. She has three grandchildren, Adam Niedens of Lyons, Cassie Niedens of Great Bend and Josh Niedens of Fort Drum, N.Y.
