Barton County 4H’ers competed in the State 4H Air Rifle Match on April 23, in Alma along with other 4H’ers from across the state.
To compete in the State Match, a competitor had to score at least 400 points out of a possible 600 points at one of a number of qualifying matches held earlier in the year.
In the Junior Division, 8 to 13 year olds, Barton county was represented by Dalton and Parker Dicks and Will Clark, all from Great Bend. Dalton placed 10th with parker in 11th and Will in 13th.
In the Senior Division, 14 to 18 year olds, Barton county was represented by Katelyn Reh and Lake Lyman, both from Ellinwood, Ryan Kohman, Parker Smith, Jace Schwager, Alivia Bautista, Caleb Straub and Collin and Evan Hammond, all from Great Bend.
Eleven counties entered four person teams in the competition. The Barton county team placed 5th. The team was Katelyn Reh, with high score for the team, followed by Ryan Kohman, Parker Smith and Lake Lyman. All four placed in the top 35 in individual scores.
