Dr. Stang elected president of Great Bend Rotary Club

Dr. Patrick Stang, president-elect of the Great Bend Rotary Club for 2016-17, attended the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar April 1-2, in Manhattan.
A number of sessions dealing with Rotary programs and club administration were presented, in addition to many fine speakers, including Governor Sam Brownback. About 170 Rotarians from Kansas and Rotary International attended.
The Great Bend Rotary club meets Mondays at noon in the Great Bend Library lower level conference room. In addition to a monthly food bank donation, its annual provision of dictionaries to all area 3rd graders, and scholarship program, the club also has had a strong liaison program with other area clubs like the Barton County Young Professionals in their efforts to improve the community.
The club also participates in Rotary International programs such as the effort to eradicate polio worldwide. More information about the club is available at www.greatbendrotary.org.
