LYONS — The fall meeting of the Kansas Quilters Organization (KQO) will be held Sept. 29-30, in Lyons at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
The featured speaker is Marge Banks from Lawrence, who will teach a workshop on Sept. 29 on Seminole piecing techniques. Other workshops will be presented by Pam Calhoun, Hutchinson, Flanders Poppies pattern; and by Margaret Evers, Great Bend, Layered Flannel Throw.
The Piecemakers Quilt Guild will give a trunk show featuring quilts and aprons on Friday evening, Sept. 29.
KQO’s general meeting will be on Sept. 30, and will feature a lecture from Marge Banks, as well as a trunk show by Nancy Swanwick, Fort Scott, who will show many quilts that she has designed and made. KQO was founded in 1984 to stimulate an interest in quilts, provide education and advance the art of quilting. Meeting twice a year in different cities throughout the state, membership is open to anyone interested in quilting. The club’s spring meeting will be held at Emporia on June 8-9, 2018.
