Golden Sheaf Chapter #226, Order of the Eastern Star, Great Bend, hosted an official visit of the Worthy Grand Matron of Kansas, Dolores (Dee) Smith, and Worthy Grand Patron, Larry Swain, also of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, on May 20, at the Masonic Hall in Hoisington. The purpose of the official visit was to honor Barbara and Warren Tindall and Ruth Herman, with their 50 year pin presentations. JoAnne Massey was not present. Also honored, Robie Lewellan, 25 year recipient pin. Bobby Langston, Roger Langston, Amanda Park and Chris Zielke were not present. Dorothy Steeples and Doris West, 75 year recipients were not present to receive their pins.
Other dignitaries honored were: Past Grand Matron, Patricia Brothers; Past Grand Patrons, Robert Ott and Darrell Shanteau; Grand Officers, Pam Abel, Mary Ruth Yulich and Carol McEwen. Grand Represenatives, District Aides and Grand Committee members honored were, Karen Dellinger, Rae Corbet, Ruth Ann Staton, Diane Krupp, JoAnn Wortman and Barbara Lear. Escorts honored were Charlotte Swaim, Evelyn Van Fleet, Hank Turnbaugh, John Staton, Betty Ott, Ellen Shanteau and, Worthy Patron, Richard Wortman.
Golden Sheaf officers attending were, Ann and Richard Tennant, Carol and Carl Anderson, Karlene Buechman, Darrell and Ellen Shanteau, Delores Steadman and, Daisy Atteberry and Barbara Lear. Guest officers were Robert and Betty Ott, Karen Dellinger, Rae Corbett, Pat Brothers, Diane Krupp, Merna Kelly, and Richard Wortman.
