Leaders of the 315 Kansas Lions and Leo Clubs from all parts of the state will be meeting in McPherson Nov. 5-7 for the Fall Assembly of the Kansas Lions Council of Governors. A major order of business will be the assembly of the State Council of Governors for the second of their required meetings during the year to establish and evaluate policy that will guide Kansas Lions in community service to their hometown communities. 
Governors of the five Kansas Districts are Rev. Kerry Hookstra of 17-L (Western); Marilyn Sorenson of 17-I (North Central); Michele Hufferd of 17-O (North East); Tom Smarsh of 17-N (South Central), and Tonja Wienck of 17-S (South East).  The meetings will be lead by State Council Chairman Bill Phillipi of Marysville.
All three of the Kansas Lions Foundations will conduct their quarterly meetings. Many of the State Committees that are appointed to serve the special needs of Youth Activities, Sight Conservation, Diabetes, Lions State Band Camp, Environmental Conservation, Club Membership and Public Relations will also meet during the Saturday sessions.
The International Association of Lions Clubs is the largest community service organization on Earth with 1.35 million members in 45,638 clubs in 206 countries.  Kansas Lions membership stands at 7,000 members, serving in 315 Lions and Leo (Youth) Clubs all across Kansas, each dedicated to serving their hometown communities.
