Ronnie Lutz, Central Kansas ThreadBenders Opportunity Quilt Chairman, has announced the recipient of the 2012 Opportunity Quilt as Sandra Vink of Great Bend. Each year, the guild members create an Opportunity Quilt and the money raised funds the group’s HC project.
TLC Quilts are donated to families who have suffered a disaster (i.e. fire, tornado) and children with a life-threatening illness. In addition, the guild has donated quilts to organizations such as the Family Crisis Center for distribution. Sharon DeBusk, TLC Chairman, reports that 16 HC Quilts were awarded to Barton County residents in 2012.
Financial donations or donations of cotton quilting fabric are always welcome.
