Parnassus Club meeting

October will be the start of the new season of study for the women of Parnassus Club. The Parnassus Club was organized in 1939 as a music study club. In 1960 the club began annual scholarship auditions for young musicians with cash awards for the winners. These awards are designated for further music study. The auditions are held in early spring each year at BCC.
Parnassus Club meets at 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, October through April. The club is an informal group that enjoys learning about composers and compositions. Performance by the members is not a requirement.
The first meeting for this fall will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, at Coralie Button’s home with a continuation of the study of “The Tone Poem.” Interested persons can call Coralie Button at 793-7702 or Sharon Jones at 793-8105.
