Progress Club

The Progress Club met on Dec. 6 at the home of Darlene Boley. Seventeen members were present including two new members, Janet Engleman and Judy Turner.
Members donated money to the Military Moms for purchase of items and shipping of the boxes to our military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat Halbower reported over 3,000 boxes have been sent to our troops.
Jeanine Laughlin gave the program “Gifts That Keep on Giving”. It was an informative program about Gideon’s International. The organization is over 100 years old and has members in 194 countries. The Gideon’s have placed Bibles in almost all hotel rooms in the world.
Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Darlene Boley, Mary Ann Mull and Rosemary Herrmann.
The next meeting will be Jan. 3 at the Learning Resource Center at Barton Community College. Evelyn Essmiller will give the program: “Working with the Food Bank.”
