VFW Post 311 and Auxiliary

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111 and its Ladies Auxiliary met on Sept. 28 at the Post Home.
The Auxiliary had one visitor, Seventh District President, Diane Hill from Ellinwood Auxiliary 5657.
The following donations were made: $100 to unmet needs; $300 per member to Cancer Aid and Research; $90 to Cancer Aid and Research in memory of nine deceased Gold Star Mothers; and $100 to “Kans for Kids”.
Americanism chairman, Thelma Hipp, reported the Sept. 17 was POW/MIA Recognition Day. In honor and memory of the Prisoners of Wars and those Missing in Action a “Missing Man” table is set up in the Post lobby, The POW/MIA prayer was given.
Sept. 26 was Gold Star Mothers Day. The Auxiliary has one Gold Star Mother, Kathryn Seenz. She was unable to attend the meeting. “Honoring gold Star Parents” was read.
Oct. 10, Seventh District VFW Post and Auxiliary Fall conference will be held in Kingman hosted by Post 1164 and its Auxiliary.
Oct. 23 is “Make a Difference Day”-a national day to help others. The Auxiliary will be donating $200 to the Food Bank.
Inspection of the Auxiliary was done by District President Daine Hill.
The next meeting will be held on Oct. 26 at the Post Home.
