Doug Haltom of Rush Center, Denise Childs of Hutchinson and Tammy Haltom of Great Bend announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Haltom, to Blake Ochs, son of Frank and Judy Ochs of Great Bend.
The bride-elect is a graduate of LaCrosse High School. She is attending Barton Community College where she will graduate in May with an RN license and an  Associates of Nursing degree. She is employed as an LPN.
The prospective-groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School. He attended Barton Community College where he was in the Automotive program. He is employed by Kansas Doors Inc.
The wedding is planned for Aug. 31, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Great Bend.
