Steve and Dorian Hickel of Claflin announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Hickel, to Stephen Burkhead, son of Bruce and Connie Burkhead of Neodesha.
The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Claflin High School. She is currently attending Washburn University in Topeka. She is employed at the Washburn University Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Neodesha High School. He attended Kansas State University and Pittsburg State University. He is a self-employed farmer in the Neodesha area in Wilson County.
The wedding is planned for July 20 at the community Christian Church in Great Bend.
