Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Fall events are in full swing now, and it’s National Library Card Signup Month! That means all month long we will be replacing lost or damaged library cards all month long. So if you lost your card or it barely works anymore come on down to the library for a free replacement!
Today we will kick things off with the Crochet Club, which meets every Thursday at 4 p.m. Then we have Marvel Movie Trivia at Dry Lake Brewery at 7 p.m. This trivia will focus specifically on theatrically released Marvel movies. If you’re a mega Marvel fan or have just been dragged to all the movies by someone who is, this is the trivia for you! Grab a team of four or go it solo. Register your team on our website or come to the brewery by 6:30 p.m. to register in person for your chance to win bragging rights as well as some fabulous prizes.
Tuesday we have our first story time back! That will be at 10:30 a.m., so get ready for stories, music, dancing, and more. At 11 a.m. we will have our usual Tech Time, and then at 5:30 p.m. it’s time for our Murder Mystery Escape Room. Forth-graders to adults can sign up on our website for 20-minute time slots on our website. Participants will work together to solve the murder and escape before it’s too late. Registration is required and spots are limited so register now!
Next Thursday, Sept. 14, we will have Luna here at 4 p.m. to hear stories then at 5:30 p.m. our Teen Manga and Anime Club will be meeting to watch and discuss “One Piece” then we will have a video game tournament with fabulous prizes for our winners.
astly, at 6 p.m. adults get ready to get crafty with our latest adult craft Hobbit Doors. That’s right we will be making our own hobbit door wreaths to go on our much larger human doors or walls. These are awesome and you don’t even need to be a Hobbit or Lord of the Rings fan to appreciate these whimsical decorations.
