Lavern Sovereign of Claflin will celebrate her 100th birthday on Nov. 23, 2020 with a card shower. 

Lavern was born on Nov. 23, 1920 in rural Barton County. She was married to Fred Sovereign. He died on March 25, 1997. She has three daughters, Beverly Johnson of Jefferson City, Mo., Maxine Everett of Wathena and Debra Krier of Claflin.
