DADSVILLE Look, I don't always agree with dad logic, but this one just makes too much sense and it's something that's been weighing on my mind far too long.

This dad is apparently celebrating a birthday and according to the cake, he's 3. That may be a mistake, but how could I know. Regardless the dad goes into a rant about birthday candles that I have no doubt his family has heard at every birthday gathering since 1977.

His logic is sound. When you blow out candles you're basically spitting all over the cake everyone is about to eat. And I suppose I'm becoming a grumpy old dad at this point as well because I've had this thought for a long time now. Every time I'm at a birthday party, usually for kids, I watch that child enthusiastically blow out his or her candles while dousing the baked good in spit. It sounds gross because it is gross. No other way to explain it. Needless to say, I usually do not eat birthday cake.

So I'm totally on board with adopting this dad's approach for putting out birthday candles and I think we should all adopt it so we can enjoy birthday cake without the extra helping of acute viral rhinopharyngitis.

Happy birthday, everyone. Enjoy the video.
