CAUGHT ON CAMERAVILLE Let's be honest, once we get on a windy mountain road it doesn't matter if we're in an Aston Martin or a beat-up old Gremlin, we want to act like James Bond. We start accelerating through the turns and revving our engines through the straightaways. Most of us, however, do it at a reasonable rate of speed, so we're more driving instructor than 007.

The driver in this video tried to go full Bond on the Angeles Crest Highway, but he didn't hug the turn quite like he was supposed to. The driver was clearly going way too fast and careened off a cliff. The driver was lucky his car stopped before taking a huge dive off the rest of the cliff, that he didn't get hurt and that he didn't hurt anyone else.

The dashcam video manages to make your heart skip a beat, and thankfully, the driver knows he made a mistake. This was a comment he made on the YouTube video:

"What happened? To put it simply, I was going faster than I should have been and got distracted at the one moment that required 110% focus on an unfamiliar road," the driver wrote. "I'm primarily posting this in an attempt to help others learn from my mistakes. This is a reminder to be safe, pay attention and KNOW THE ROAD before you try to enjoy it."

The accident occurred a year ago, but the driver said he's posting the video now because he's grateful to be alive.

I'm glad the driver learned from his mistakes, but I'm also thoroughly impressed that all that came out of his mouth during the crash was, "Oh, no."

Not sure I would have kept my composure that much.

Enjoy the video and let's use it as a reminder to stay safe on the road.
