THE VOLCANO I have an intense fear and fascination with molten hot lava.

The stuff is totally insane. It is incredibly beautiful and every time I see it in a video I have this insatiable desire to touch it, but then reality sets in. The stuff is so hot that I would immediately catch fire and death would soon follow. Its beauty, power and hypnotic flow scare me because I'm afraid if I got too close to it I couldn't stop myself. Yes, I agree, I need help.

But this video is getting me as close to touching the orange goop is I'll ever be. It also makes me want to buy a GoPro.

In the video, a GoPro is being used to capture the natural beauty of flowing lava. I can't stop watching as the lava makes its way across the earth and envelopes everything it touches. This part of the video is fascinating, but it's not until later on that things get really good.

At one point the person handling the camera sets it inside a crevice and lets the lava slowly inch toward it and eventually swallow it up. You see the lava coming and even though we're completely safe, I couldn't help but feel my heart pound as the lava ignited the camera.

The craziest part about all of this, however, is the fact that the GoPro survived. That's right, the camera kept on capturing images and they were able to retrieve it out of the lava. Here are pictures of the rescued camera, and it should be the main image on GoPro's site with the tagline, "Go ahead, try to destroy this camera."
