THE WATER SLIDE KINGDOM Summer may be in its final months, but that hasn't stopped the sun from beating down on us with 90-plus degree weather. It also hasn't stopped us from flocking to water parks and swimming pools like vultures to a waiting carcass.
Well, we're not the only ones salivating over a chance to whet our insatiable appetites for a respite from the heat. Fellow warm-blooded humans across the nation are looking for that little oasis to catch a break from the heat.
A great place to do that is at Action Park in New Jersey. The giant water park includes one of the tallest water slides on earth, cliff jumping and this, the world's longest water slide.
Action Park employee Maria Bitko strapped on a GoPro and headed down the 2,000-foot-long water slide and lived to tell the tale.
No, it wasn't the speeds that would have killed her or the delirium from all that sliding, but rather whatever is turning that slide and water yellow. I'm sure someone smarter than me will calmly explain what that discoloration really is and that it is completely harmless, but regardless Mr. or Mrs. Scientist, it looks gross.
With all that said, I'd totally do this and I'm currently looking for cheap flights to New Jersey. Never thought I'd say those words.
So, take a few minutes and get a break from the heat and watch Bitko take a ride on the world's longest water slide.
