A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY - I dont think I need to tell you, but here it comes anyway: The newest trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens has debuted, and it basically broke the Internet.
Millions of people tune into Monday Night Football on a regular basis, but this Monday saw even more viewers as people anxiously awaited the newest trailer during half time.
The premiere of the trailer coincides with the pre-ticket sales that went live today and basically shut down movie theater sites across the nation with people overloading the servers trying to buy tickets for opening night. Long story short, if you havent bought tickets already, theres a good chance youre not seeing Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakes on opening night. Sorry.
The newest addition to the Star Wars canon is still a little under two months away, but anticipation for the sci-fi flick is high, and Id be lying if I said the new trailer doesnt have me excited.
Im sure many of you have watched the trailer a thousand times already and broken it down to its component parts and argued with your friends about it, but lets talk about it anyway.
In the trailer, we get some more exposition, deeper insights into who Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) are. We also get a lot more Han Solo, a shot of Chewie and Leia as well as a glimpse at Luke, but not a clear shot of Lukes face.
Something else thats interesting is we see Jon Boyegas character, Finn, wielding a light saber as he defends himself against who we assume is Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. It would also appear that Kylo Ren is on a mission to finish what Darth Vader started.
Do we know a lot more about the story? No.
What we do know from this trailer, however, is that it looks stunning, our beloved characters are back, and we can hopefully count on plenty of action.
I have to admit, I got chills watching the trailer. Maybe theres too much fan boy in me, but Im excited.
What about you? Are you excited about the trailer? Did you already buy tickets? Are you cursing the heavens because you didnt and theyre already sold out? Let us know.
