Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have a special event for all ages this coming week. The team from Mad Science will be here to teach us about all kinds of tails, from dino tails to comet tails. Attendees will investigate and experiment to discover the tails around us on Wednesday, June 30, at 2 p.m.

Coming up next week, bring your children ages 0-7 to our weekly Story Time at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29th. Later that day at 3 p.m., teens grades 6-12 can join us for Comic Coasters and a Superhero Movie. Upcycle old comics into awesome, custom coasters while watching your friendly neighborhood web slinger save the day!

Before you join the Mad Science team at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, find your way to the central area of the library’s main floor at 10:30 a.m. to enjoy some popcorn and a documentary movie about some of the coldest places on our planet and the animals that live and thrive there.

On Thursday, July 1, children grades K-5 can join us on our Around the World Adventure at 10:30 a.m. This week’s focus is on the animals of Antarctica. Later that evening at 6:30 p.m., we have our Online Teen Anime Night. Teens ages 13 and up can tune into the Teen Spot Discord server to watch an episode of a random anime decided on by popular vote. To join the server, use the code @gbmanga in the Remind app or on remind.com, or text the code to 81010 (standard message rates apply).

Lastly, teens can also pick up a Jellyfish Windsock Take & Make. Grab a kit with everything you need to make your own jelly that “swims” in the Kansas breeze.
