Jim and Mildred Meroney will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Dec. 28, 2020.

Mildred Fritz and Jim Meroney were united in marriage on Dec. 28, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Cheyenne, Wyo. Jim came from Wichita Falls, Texas, to Pine Bluffs, Wyo., to work on rigs. Millie grew up on a farm near Pine Bluffs, Wyo. Jim graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1964. His first job with Texaco took them to places like Saudia Arabia and Iran but they lived most of their lives in Wyoming.

They were blessed with two children, Jimmy and Lorrie. Sadly, Jimmy died on May 26, 1992. Their daughter Lorrie and husband Larry Ruble reside in Great Bend as well as their only grandson, Cody Ruble, wife Haley, and great-granddaughter Peyton. The couple are retired and reside in Great Bend. 

A cake reception was celebrated early with close family and friends to honor their lasting journey of love.
