Lafern Niedens of Great Bend will celebrate her 90th birthday on Jan. 22, 2019, with a card shower.

Lafern was born on Jan. 22, 1929, in rural Barton County to Emil and Clara Karst. Her children are Mike and Debbie Niedens of Great Bend, Craig and Mee-Sun Niedens of Grain Valley, Mo.; three grandchildren, Adam and Megan Niedens of Lyons, Cassie and Brenton Dupuis of Great Bend and Josh Niedens of Fort Benning, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Case and Macey Niedens and Sarah Niedens.
