The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging (SWKAAA) Older Kansas Employment Program (OKEP) are proud to announce the yearly Older Workers and Oldest Worker Award program. Each year the Older Kansas Employment Program and the Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging ask area businesses to nominate an Older Kansan (age 55 or older) whose dedication and hard work has helped make a difference in their company.
Nominations for the Older Worker Award and Oldest Worker Award will be collected from across the state from now until March 1st. The winners will be chosen from these nominations by the Kansas Department of Commerce. Companies may make several nominations for The Older Worker Award if needed. The winners will travel to Topeka in April where they will be honored and receive their award.
If your company would like to nominate an employee for either category, contact Lyle Dotson, Older Kansas Employment Program Coordinator, at 620-225-8230 or toll free at 1-800-742-9531 to receive a nomination form. Forms may also be requested by email at lyle.dotson@swksaging.org.
The Older Kansans Employment Program (OKEP) is a service of the SWKAAA and is funded thru a yearly grant from the Kansas Dept. of Commerce.
