Opal M. Miller/Jones of Great Bend will celebrate her 90th birthday with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the V.F.W., 504 Washington in Great Bend. Friends and family are invited to attend. Hosts for the event will be her children, Angela Miller and husband Gregg of Alexandria, Va., and Donna Wharton and husband Greg of Great Bend; and grandchildren Spencer Wharton and family, and Matthew Wharton and family, all of Great Bend. 

Opal was born on Nov. 28, 1928. She baked and decorated wedding and all-occasion cakes. She enjoys being around family and friends, dancing, playing bingo and an occasional bus trip to the casino.
