Descendants of Mathias and Anna Marie Heckel gathered to celebrate their 74th annual reunion, on Aug. 28, at the United Church of Christ in Ellinwood.
A committee for the 75th reunion was suggested to have a member from the six family groups. ~r;3t
The Heckel family were hosts for this years event.
Attending were: Bob Waddle of Abbyville; Byron and Renea Wade of Chanute; Earleen Dupree and Cyndy George of Cimarron; LaVerne Davidson of Claflin; Roberta Ahrens, Fred and Cynthia Gunn, Marlin and Normalee Isern, Gary and Lidia Muller, the Rev. Natrina Palan and guests, Lorin and Jean Peter, Margaret Peter, all of Ellinwood; Jim and Alberta Ahrens of Oakley; Lela Bingaman of Pratt; Mauro and Rachel, Brynley Gonzalez, of Wichita; and Doug and Lynn Dupree of California.
The 2012 reunion, in observance of the 75th, will be at the UCC, the last Sunday in August, 2012.
