10th Street and Main Street storm sewer cleaning to begin
great bend city logo

City crews will be working on cleaning the storm sewers the length of 10th Street and the length of Main Street starting May 17. Crews will be out in the early morning hours, approximately 6 a.m., to begin cleaning the lines along these busy streets. They will only work in these areas till 8 a.m. each morning to minimize any disruptions to traffic and will move to other areas of town as traffic picks up. Expect work to approximately last the summer.

Utilities Supervisor Jenna Pitchford asks motorists to be careful and attentive when driving in these areas, especially as these will be early morning hours. Crews will have signage and an arrow board for advanced warning. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to thank you for your patience.”

Anyone with questions or concerns may contact Pitchford by calling 620-793-4170, or email jpitchford@greatbendks.net.
