The Great Bend Tree Board and the American Legion Post 180 commemorate the 100th anniversary of the American Legion with a program at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Veterans Memorial Park in Great Bend. It will take place at the northeast corner of the park at the display the Tree Board has set up.

Sponsors said they plan to honor the 27 Barton County soldiers who died serving our county during World War I. They invite the public to attend this free event to remember those who died while serving in the Argonne Forrest and celebrate the American Legion’s 100 years of service.
