Barton Community College will host a concert in honor of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the recent 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, entitled, "In Remembrance," at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

The concert will consist of performances by The Prairie Winds Concert Band and Prairie Winds Jazz Ensemble. These groups will play patriotic music as well as music that was popular during the 1940s swing era.

Director of Instrumental Activities Steve Lueth said the purpose of the themed concert is to offer an opportunity for those in attendance to reflect on two tragic events in our nation’s history.

"I think it’s important to revisit the history of the United States to remember the impact these events had on shaping the history of the U.S.," Lueth said.

The Prairie Winds Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble consist of BCC students and members of the community. Admission to the concert is free.
