Supporters of Sunflower Diversified Services set records recently at its 8th annual Charity Gala. The non-profit agency raised more than $52,000 and reported 169 guests.
“I cannot begin to tell you how much we appreciate everyone who played a role in this record-setting success,” said Connie Oetken, Sunflower director of development. “This is thousands of dollars more than we have raised in the past and we had several dozen more guests at our dinner and auctions.
“Every dime we raise goes directly to infants, toddlers and adults with developmental disabilities and delays,” Oetken added. “Those who donated in any way can be assured they are instrumental in providing health-care services, adaptive equipment and many more items for their neighbors who need a helping hand.”
Oetken said Sunflower appreciates every guest, sponsor, individual and business that participated. She also noted that T.R. Esfeld, Scott Donovan, Scott Bush, Parr Light & Sound, the Highland Hotel staff, volunteers and the media deserve recognition for the Gala’s success.
“Sunflower has been here for 47 years and because of this amazing community support, it will be here for decades to come,” Oetken said. “There is a difference with Sunflower and we encourage anyone in the community to learn more about us.”
Sunflower serves infants, toddlers and adults in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties. It is the only agency in the area that provides all these services.
