Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will show "Kung Fu Panda 2" as the first after-school movie of 2012, at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Later Friday evening, at 7 p.m., the library will show "The Help" to adults 18 years and older.

Both shows are free and free popcorn will be served, according to Marketing Director Jennifer King.

"Our normal Saturday night teen movie is being moved," said King, who is also in charge of the Young Adult department. "Starting Monday, Jan. 9, we will have teen programming on Mondays from 4-6 p.m., for teens in grades 7-12."

Three teen movies will be shown this month, with the theme College Daze. On Jan. 9 the library will show "Accepted," the Jan. 16 movie is "Real Genius," and the Jan. 23 movie is "Legally Blonde."

Jan. 30 will be Teen Game Day, also from 4-6 p.m. Students are invited to try out the library’s new Xbox 360 and Kinect game systems.
