Great Bend Police Officer Andrew Holinde was arrested early Thursday after an alleged domestic incident. A woman was also arrested, according to reports.

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 1119 Stone Street at 2:33 a.m. after a woman reported Holinde had choked her.

Holinde was booked on a charge of battery domestic violence. He was released after posting a $2,500 surety bond. Audrey M. Trimmer was the reporting party and was also booked on a charge of battery domestic violence. She posted a $2,500 surety bond later in the day.

The Great Bend Police Department issued a statement on Friday, saying GBPD is investigating the events that occurred early Thursday as a personnel matter, and that the internal investigation will remain confidential. The criminal investigation will be handled by the sheriff’s office and Barton County Attorney’s Office.
