Police release information on rape suspect

Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a rape that occurred at 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, when a man broke into a residence in the 1100 block of Morphy St.
Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings, speaking for Crime Stoppers, said the suspect is a black male, approximately 5’7’’ and 180 pounds, with a very dark complexion. He was wearing a gray hoodie, sweat pants and was armed with a 9 inch knife, with a wooden handle. The suspect forced the victim into her bedroom and removed her pants and underwear and forcibly raped her. After 15 minutes he left on foot.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 792-1300 or 888-305-1300. Callers remain anonymous, and any tip that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.
