Oilfiled pumping unit parts were stolen from a lease field at NE 10 Road and NE 40 Ave., and a trailer with a broken wheel was found nearby.

The theft was discovered Monday and reported to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.  Loss was estimated at $3,000.

Undersheriff Larry Holliday said it appeared the items stolen were unattached parts that had previously been removed from the pumping unit and replaced.

Holliday said he did not know if the trailer was left by whoever took the parts. No identification was found on it.

Items taken included beams, pitman arms and wrist pins.
