The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a free Stop ‘N Learn Session titled, “The Snakes of Kansas,” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St. This program will also be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. Jean Aycock from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, will share fascinating facts about one of the most misunderstood groups of animals, and show participants a few snakes that call Cheyenne Bottoms home.
