Barton Community College will begin selling tickets for its upcoming musical "Li’l Abner," at noon on Monday, Feb. 20.
The musical will feature Barton students as well as community members.
Based on the comic strip "Li’l Abner," by Al Capp, the musical is, on the surface, a broad spoof of hillbillies, but under the surface it is also a pointed satire taking on a number of topics that provide subtle commentaries on various aspects of American society.
Tickets are only available online. For more information and to purchase tickets go to www.bartonccc.edu and click on the "Li’l Abner," link. Tickets are $8 and $10, reserve seating only. For patrons that would like to purchase tickets but do not have internet access, call Debbie Reed at (620) 792-9391.
The musical will be at 7:30 p.m. on March 9 and 10, and there will be a 2 p.m. matinee on March 11 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
