Western Kansas Train Show returns to Ellis County

HAYS — Thousands of model trains will be available to look at and buy at the fourth annual Western Kansas Train Show , Sept. 24-25 at the Ellis County Fairgrounds, 1344 Fairgrounds Road, in Hays.

There will be eight different layouts from model train enthusiasts in Kansas and Nebraska set up in both buildings of the fairgrounds. Steam, diesel, Thomas, passenger trains and modern freight trains will be running on the various layouts. Dealers from all across the Midwest attend this show, offering models trains of many scales, including N, HO, O and G.74 .

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Admission is $5; children 12 years and under admitted free with a paid adult.

The railroad museum in Ellis will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24.
