The annual Zoo Society meeting will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo. President Penny Quinn will host a slide show presentation to update members on activities and answer questions.

Zoo Director Scott Gregory said members will take a behind-the-scenes tour and view the newest animal at the zoo, a 167-pound cougar named Phoenix, who is on loan for a year from Panthera Research in Texas. Each member who attends will also receive a stuffed cougar as a thank you for supporting the zoo. Snacks will also be provided.

Gregory said there is one spot available on the Zoo Society Board, and members who are interested in that position must show up to have their names nominated to be on the ballot.

There will also be a drawing for tickets to Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure in Salina.
