If you tried to send an email to Barton County officials and got no response, you are not alone. 

Utility workers near the county Communications Center at Lakin and Stone severed a fiber-optic cable last week. As a result, officials received no emails from last Thursday through midday Wednesday.

Officials said Wednesday afternoon that anyone who tried to contact the county via email and got no response should try to re-send their messages.
