Two separate traffic stops this week by Barton County Sheriff’s deputies led to the arrests of three individuals on narcotics and other charges.
First, at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday BCSO detectives were conducting surveillance in an attempt to locate a wanted individual in the city of Great Bend. Detectives were able to locate the suspect in a motor vehicle, and a felony traffic stop was conducted in downtown Great Bend near Lakin at Main. At that point, the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Aaron Taylor of Great Bend, was placed under arrest.
During the course of the incident, detectives located substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine as well evidence of drug distribution, Sheriff Brian Bellendir reported. Taylor was previously wanted on multiple warrants from Barton and Stafford County, as well as the new charges for the suspected methamphetamine located in the vehicle.
Taylor was booked on charges of parole violation, aid and abet in an aggravated battery, aggravated criminal sodomy, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggravated endangerment of a child. Taylor is being held without bond on the parole violation; the remaining charges have a bond set at $500,000.
The second individual in the vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Calli Lundquist of Great Bend, was also arrested and booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and aggravated child endangerment Lundquist being held on a $50,000 bond. A small child that was also in the vehicle was taken into protective custody.
In the second incident, at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Court St. in the city of Hoisington on a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. The driver was identified as 42-year-old Christopher Stamm of Great Bend. Deputies determined Stamm was driving on a suspended license.
During the course of the traffic stop, deputies conducted an investigation leading to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine as well as a firearm. Stamm was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail without incident. He was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of prescription medication, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of firearm, no drug tax stamp and driving while suspended. Stamm is currently being held in the Barton County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
During the second incident, the BCSO was assisted at the scene by the Hoisington Police Department.
