The Golden Belt Community Concert Association begins its new season this month and is still accepting new memberships. With the theme “The Magic of Music,” the season starts Sept. 19 with The Equinox Little Big Band playing music from the Great American Songbook.
The season continues with David Burnham’s Broadway Oct. 1 featuring songs from his roles in musicals including “Wicked,” “The Light in the Piazza” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”; the Blackwood Brothers Quartet Oct. 15 singing traditional southern gospel music; Next Generation Leahy Nov. 15 with high-energy Celtic-based music, and also including French-Canadian step dancing and vocals; and concert pianist and chamber musician Alina Kiryayeva Jan. 28 presenting a brilliant light-classical music performance.
The season’s final concert on March 16, 2017 will be the All-American Boys Chorus underwritten by Nex-Tech Wireless of Great Bend. The Boys Chorus will present the best of America’s music heritage.
Season memberships can be purchased at the Sept. 19 concert. Those purchasing memberships at the first concert will receive their season tickets at the concert. No single concert tickets are available. Concerts take place at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Season memberships are $50 for adults; $10 for full-time enrolled students; $110 for a family membership including two adults and all dependent children living in the same household; and $110 for a grandparent package for two adults and up to four minor grandchildren.
