CUA awards 42 teachers with classroom grants

WICHITA — Credit Union of America has awarded local teachers with TGIF grants for the current award session. Applications are blindly reviewed by a team of CUA employees and retired education professionals. The program was started in 2000 and has awarded $329,413 to 827 teachers since inception. 

Local teachers are: Diane Applegate, Hoisington, Lincoln Elementary, grades 2-5, Giving the Gift of Reading, $485; Denton Lewis, Great Bend High School, grades 9-12, Ear Buds for History, $500; Hannah Sites, Riley Elementary, grades K-6, Safe Sensory Classroom, $500.

The next deadline for TGIF grant applications is Oct. 31. Online application and requirements can be found online at www.CUofAmerica.com/TGIF.
