Barton Community College will offer a night class version of its Introduction to Automotive Technology class in 2014. The class will meet from 6-9 p.m. every Thursday from Jan. 16 through May 15.
Automotive Service Excellence Certified Instructor Brance Barnard will teach the class. This is the first class needed to obtain an Automotive certificate or associate degree, and will include the latest in automotive technology and curriculum.
It is suited for someone looking for a career as a mechanic, or for a person who just wants to save money by learning to repair his or her own vehicle. Students will troubleshoot and make minor vehicle repairs, perform routine maintenance and service and use electronic repair information to identify vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.
Tuition is waived for current high school students via Senate Bill 155.
