The Great Bend middle school 7th and 8th grade orchestras performed an in-house contest on Wednesday, Feb. 22, in which each group received the highest rating of 1 from Judge Summer Miller.
The 8th grade orchestra played “March of the Meistersingers” arranged by Dackow and “Momentum” by Longfield.
The 7th grade performed “Morning Lights” by Balmages and “Dragon Slayer” by Grice.
In addition to the contest, Mrs. Miller also took time for a mini clinic with the GBMS String Rhapsody group. Director Alyssa Lane stated, “I would like to congratulate the students for their outstanding ratings, they have put in a lot of hard work and it is paying off.”
