Golden Belt Community Foundation announces 2015 scholarship awards
Golden Belt Community Foundation announces the 2015 scholarship award winners. Out of 89 applicants, a total of $45,050 in scholarships were awarded to 40 deserving students.

Allan V. Miller Family Scholarship
The scholarship was established by Chari Miller and her family, in memory of Allan Miller. The intent is to assist Great Bend and Ellinwood students in pursuit of an agriculture related college degree.

Bob and Rosalee Roth Family Scholarship
The Bob and Rosalee Roth Family Scholarship was established for Pawnee County high school students planning to further his or her education at the University of Kansas.

Cap Proffitt Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established for Ellinwood High School graduates with a preference given to past or current FFA or 4-H members and agriculture majors.

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Carla M. Yahne and is reserved for female graduates of Great Bend High School.

The Chester Crane Memorial Scholarship is intended for Larned High School graduates attending a Kansas college possessing a financial need.

Kansas State University Scholarship
Our KSU Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by alumni, both businesses and individuals, in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford counties who wanted to assist local students in obtaining a college education from KSU. Students who grew up in one of the above-mentioned counties and who attends or plans to attend KSU are eligible to apply for this merit based scholarship.

The Mingenback family created a scholarship fund for aspiring health practitioners, which encourages personal and professional commitment to the community. Recipients must be from Barton County and majoring in the health/medical related field.

The family of Ralph and Elinor Haneke established this scholarship to assist Great Bend High School graduates who demonstrate good citizenship and come from a single parent household.

The family of Ryan Joseph Bealer created a scholarship fund for Great Bend High School male graduates wishing to enter the engineering field. Recipients must demonstrate community service, community involvement, extra-curricular activities and work history.
