Kansas State University alumni in the Great Bend area are planning a tailgate party for local alumni and prospective K-State students Thursday, Sept. 23, at The Front Door, 1615 Tenth St. High school students interested in learning more about K-State are encouraged to attend.
Campus guests will include April Mason, provost and senior vice president of K-State; Darchelle Martin, associate director of alumni programs, K-State Alumni Association; Sarah Hurd, K-State admissions representative; and K-State Student Ambassadors Stephanie Larson and Ryan Wilkerson.
Activities begin at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, and reservations are required by Thursday, Sept. 16. The event is free for children age 10 and under.
Organizers of the tailgate party said high school juniors and seniors and transfer students may attend for free and will receive a free K-State T-shirt. There also will be opportunities to win scholarships for the fall 2011 semester.
